R.I.P 360 voice. All good things do come to an end.

General Chat

As one of the first members, and as a "community expert" staff member, I am very saddened by this turn of events. The threads adage deeply applies to that experience - we all had our own great experiences associated with 360Voice. I could rally off quite a few, like the multiple meet-ups and special events we did early on, or the fantastic changes we saw through great efforts of members, but doing so in a more specific manner would get me rather nostalgic and sad.

Rest in peace, old friend. I did came, saw, and I've got the t-shirt. End of a generation.

However, we have found a new home here, and now it's apparently a new generation. Let's apply the same vigor, if not more, to making GTN better than our fondest memories of 360Voice!
Thank you. Sometimes I can sift through my own spam-delivering ability and actually post something relevant and worthwhile. Don't get used to it, however. A Porsche spamalanche is a ticking bomb, idly waiting to go off without provocation, you know, because reasons.

Crud. There it is right there. And I was doing so well this evening.
Oh I know man, so when you have a rare moment of clarity and decency, I'm going to call you on it.

Really big companies register for 2-4 years at a time:
http://stuffgate.com/xbox.com (December 2017)
http://stuffgate.com/sony.com (July 2016)

But, it isn't like that means anything.

Look at http://stuffgate.com/futiles.com - Someone has been squatting on that since 2009, but renews it every year. Which is why I have .net...

So, while LiveGamer may let it expire, the expiry date on domains means literally nothing.
Oh, it's going to run out of space way before then unless I do something.

I was under the impression he was letting it go as of the beginning of this year.

Don't give people hope where there is none. Let's just rejoice in where we are now. You were Dev there now your Dev here.. so not like your loosing anything.. and GTN has so much potential!

I was a badge addict there too, I will miss it. I even made a userstyle for it.
