today marks the 12 year anniversary of the biggest tragedy in american history

we will never forget

It's hard to believe 9/11 happened 12 years ago. I was a freshman in high school back then, yet I will never forget that horrific day.

I was a Freshman in College when it happened. I remember going home in between classes and seeing it on the news and it wasn't until I went back to class and they had cancelled the remainder of the day how severe this actually was.

I watched the second plane hit live. My mom was (still is) working for OSHA at the time and she heard about the first one and called me. I turned on the tv and was dumfounded at a plane hitting a tower. Then the next one hit and I knew at that second what was happening. This event shaped a nation, shaped me.

It's a large part of why I am a veteran.
